LA Hiker Rescued After Suffering Heat Related Illness

Firefighters had to conduct a hoist operation to rescue a hiker overwhelmed by the heat in Pacific Palisades.

PACIFIC PALISADES, CA — Firefighters conducted a hoist operation Saturday to rescue a male hiker suffering from a heat related illness. The man was hiking near Sunset Boulevard and Temescal Gateway Park in Pacific Palisades when he fell ill Saturday morning.

The Los Angeles Fire Department deployed air resources to hoist the man to safety.

The man may have been transported to a nearby hospital and his condition was unknown, according to Los Angeles City Fire Department.
