Left Turn Signal To Be Added At Chautauqua/Sunset Intersection
CD11 Transportation Director Eric Bruins expects the new turn signal to significantly reduce car crashes at the intersection.
PACIFIC PALISADES, CA — Westside commuters will be happy to learn that LADOT is installing a left-turn signal at the Chautauqua at Sunset intersection. Eric Bruins, Council District 11 Transportation Director, announced the change during a recent Pacific Palisades Community Council meeting.
The signal will be put in place for westbound traffic on Sunset Boulevard turning left onto Chautauqua Boulevard. Community members have long requested the turn signal, especially in the aftermath of fatal incidents such as a 2017 motorcycle crash that killed one and injured three.
LADOT Senior Transportation Engineer Tim Fremaux also revealed possible changes for the Chautauqua at PCH intersection, which include new lane markings, signage and changes in turning lanes.
