Man Dies In Pacific Palisades Crash On PCH
The car struck the man near Porto Marina Way before swerving down an embankment onto the beach.
PACIFIC PALISADES, CA — Authorities identified a 27-year-old man who died after being hit by a car on Pacific Coast Highway Sunday night. The fatal crash took place around 9:30 p.m. around the intersection of PCH and Porto Marina Way.
The car was driving north on PCH when a pedestrian attempted to cross the street, according to Lezeth Lomelli of the Los Angeles Police Department. The driver tried to swerve, but still made contact with the man.
The car later swerved into the southbound lanes and went down an embankment onto the beach, Lomelli said.

Carlos Barahona died at the scene, the County coroner announced Monday. The driver and their passenger were also injured in the crash.
California Highway Patrol shut down PCH between Porto Marina Way and Temescal Canyon Road through Monday morning while crews cleaned and investigated.
