Pacific Palisades Brush Fire Scorches A Quarter-Acre

A small brush fire that broke out in a compost pile in Pacific Palisades Saturday was quickly doused by firefighters.

PACIFIC PALISADES, CA — A small brush fire broke out in Pacific Palisades Saturday morning, but firefighters quickly doused the flames.

The blaze broke out shortly after 10:30 a.m. in the 300 block of North Bellino Drive. Los Angeles Fire Department crews had the blaze out within 10 minutes, according to fire department spokesman Brian Humphrey.

The fire began in a 10' x 10' compost pile surrounded by green vegetation, Humphrey said.

No structures were threatened and no evacuations were ordered.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
