Planned Gas Release May Cause Odor, Authorities Warn

A natural gas release by the Southern California Gas Company may cause odor in the Pacific Palisades and Santa Monica Areas

PACIFIC PALISADES, CA -- Authorities are warning residents in Pacific Palisades and Santa Monica not to be alarmed if they smell gas early Friday morning.

The Southern California Gas Company is conducting controlled natural gas release, according to the California Highway Patrol. Residents in West Los Angeles, Santa Monica and Pacific Palisades may be able to detect an odor during the release, but there is no cause for alarm, authorities said.
