Southbound 405 Fwy. to Close Thursday Night

The southbound 405 Freeway will close overnight Thursday, from the 101 Freeway to Getty Center Drive.

According to Metro, crews will be constructing the falsework structure at the Mulholland Bridge and placing girder plates "above each bridge span and across each direction of the freeway roadway." Falsework is a temporary structure that supports the bridge during reconstruction.

The ramps within the closure area may close as early as 7 p.m. and freeway lanes will begin to close as early as 10 p.m. Thursday. Full closure is expected from 12-5 a.m. Friday.

According to a Metro release, Sepulveda Boulevard will be used as a detour during freeway closures.
