SUV Plows Into Brentwood Homeless Encampment Injuring Three

The early morning crash left three people with minor injuries, and police are investigating the cause of the single-vehicle crash.

LOS ANGELES, CA — Three people were injured Thursday when an SUV plowed into a Brentwood homeless encampment in the middle of the night, striking several people.

Three people suffered only minor injuries. Police are investigating the cause of the crash near Los Angeles National Veterans Park and no arrests were announced in connection with it.

The Los Angeles Fire Department was called to the 11500 block of West San Vicente Boulevard near Wilshire Boulevard at about 12:35 a.m., according to Nicholas Prange of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

"A single vehicle drove through a homeless encampment, striking several people," said Nicholas Prange of the Los Angeles Fire Department. "After an extensive search of the area, a total of three patients were located and assessed. Thankfully, only minor injuries resulted and all declined hospital transport."

Department personnel used special equipment to remove the vehicle from the offroad crash scene, Prange said.
