Two Los Angeles-Area Students Make Dean's List At Bates College
The students had to maintain a 3.88 GPA or higher to earn the honor.
LEWISTON, ME — Two local students were named to the dean's list at Bates College for the 2020 fall semester, the school announced on Wednesday.
Carly Burdorf and Saskia Wong-Smith had to maintain a 3.88 grade-point average or higher for the academic term in order to earn the distinction. Burdorf hails from Pacific Palisades while Wong-Smith is from Los Angeles. Bates College is a private liberal arts university located in Lewiston, Maine with an average yearly enrollment of 2,000 students, according to a statement from the school.
Burdorf, who hails from Pacific Palisades, graduated from Harvard-Westlake School in 2019 and is majoring in biological chemistry and psychology. Wong-Smith, a Los Angeles resident, graduated in 2018 from Archer School for Girls and is currently majoring in Chinese and psychology at Bates.
