PACIFIC PALISADES, CA — A large whale carcass washed ashore in Pacific Palisades Saturday morning, and it's not pretty.

The carcass washed ashore at about 8:15 a.m. at the Will Rogers State Beach in the Pacific Palisades, according to a Los Angeles County Fire Department dispatcher. The roughly 30-foot whale carcass appears have been ravaged by the elements and little resembles the creature it once was.

Authorities are working to develop a plan to remove the carcass.
