Woman Hurt After Hit-And-Run

Firefighters say a truck deliberately hit a driver in the Palisades and then sped away.

A woman is in stable condition at Santa Monica Hospital following a hit-and-run incident near Marquez Avenue and Bollinger Drive in Pacific Palisades Friday morning, reports Los Angeles .

Firefighters say the incident involved a white BMW SUV and a silver Chevrolet pickup truck. The truck reportedly rammed and crashed into the SUV, forcing the SUV off the road at about 9:29 a.m. Witnesses told firefighters the truck then sped away.

According to the LAFD, the driver of the pickup truck drove into the SUV intentionally.

Just following the incident, the 58-year-old woman driving the SUV was not hurt, but very upset, said firefighters. However, when she jumped out of her car to get help, she forgot to place the car in park, and her car started to roll forward. According to Fire Station 23, the car dragged her, injuring her knees, neck and back. The car stopped when it hit a block wall.

Rescue 23 responded to the scene and took the woman to the hospital.

According to Fire Station 23, the Los Angeles Police Department is handling the investigation and is considering the incident an assault. Firefighters say the LAPD is searching for the driver of the pickup truck.
