PALM SPRINGS, CA — A Palm Springs estate once owned by the late singer turned elected official Sonny Bono has gone on the market, listed at just shy of $5 million.
The estate at 294 W. Crestview Drive is located in the Mesa neighborhood at the base of the San Jacinto Mountains.
Constructed in 1940 by the Gillette razor family, the 1.5-acre gated property features a six-bedroom, 6,648-square-foot main house and two guest houses, along with a tennis court, swimming pool and other amenities.

Bono was the mayor of Palm Springs from 1988 to 1992 and elected to Congress in 1994. He represented the 44th Congressional District until he death in a skiing accident near Lake Tahoe in 1998.
Mary Bono was first elected to Congress to replace her late husband, and served Palm Springs and most of central and eastern Riverside County until 2013.
