Suzanne Somers' Estate Up For Auction In Palm Springs: $14.5M

Actress Suzanne Somers' longtime and enormous Palm Springs estate is set to hit the auction block at the end of the month with an asking price of $14.5 million.

Five villas dot the 70-acre-plus compound, called Les Baux de Palm Springs by Somers and husband Alan Hamel, according to a description of the estate on the Multiple Listing Service. The estate features eight bedrooms, nine bathrooms and two-half baths.

The 71-year-old onetime "Three's Company" star and Hamel, a former television host and producer, purchased the Ridge Road home in 1977, the year they got married.

Located in the mountains above downtown, the home also features a dining room that seats 32 guests, a private swimming pool, an old carousel and a rock house built by renowned local architect Albert Frey, all of which can only be reached by private funicular, private roads and stone pathways.

Hamel, 81, told the Wall Street Journal in December that the compound was listed for sale several times in the past, and that he and Somers now were considering building a new house on a 20-acre parcel at the foot of the San Jacinto Mountains.

The Palm Springs property will be put up for auction without reserve -- meaning there is no set minimum price -- at 4 p.m. Jan. 31, according to Concierge Auctions.
