Palo Verde Ranked as 'Hottest Neighborhood' by Redfin

Rankings were based on places that are trending among homebuyers searching on Redfin.com.

Redfin, a real estate website, published its ranking of the hottest neighborhoods in the San Jose area in 2014, and Palo Alto's own Palo Verde is ranked number 4 on the list.

  1. Cherry Chase
  2. Central Los Altos
  3. Noddin
  4. Palo Verde
  5. South Los Altos

"We based the rankings on the places that are trending among the millions of homebuyers searching on Redfin.com leading into the new year," said Redfin spokesperson Cori Ramsey. 

Ramsey said the common features shared by the hottest neighborhoods include highly rated schools, short commutes and affordable prices.

"We also collected Redfin agents’ insights into which neighborhoods have seen the biggest growth in popularity among today’s homebuyers," she added.

According to the data on Redfin.com, the median list price of homes for sale in the Palo Verde neighborhood is $1,985,000.

Redfin analyzed its website-user traffic and surveyed its real-estate agents across the country to determine its top 10.

  2. Eagle Rock, Los Angeles
  3. Morningside-Lenox Park, Atlanta
  4. Upper Chevy Chase, Washington, D.C.
  5. Desert Shores, Las Vegas
  6. Barrington Oaks, Austin
  7. Phinney Ridge, Seattle
  8. Concordia, Portland, Oregon
  9. City Park, Denver
  10. Humboldt Park, Chicago
