The Admiral Risty Restaurant Set To Close After 52 Years

More than 2.5 million meals were served at the iconic Rancho Palos Verdes restaurant, according to the owners.

PALOS VERDES, CA – The Admiral Risty, an iconic Rancho Palos Verdes restaurant that has been open for more than 50 years, is closing its doors in August, according to Facebook post made Sunday.

The restaurant, which has served more than 2.5 million meals, will close its doors for good on Sunday, August 17, owners Jan and Wayne Judah wrote.

"Our sincere thanks for the wonderful memories, your loyal support and friendship over the years," the owners said. "It's been a pleasure to serve you!"

The restaurant will close because of lease negotiations, according to a notice posted at the location over the weekend.

“Regrettably, we were unable to negotiate what we regard as an equitable lease,” the notice, signed by owners Jan and Wayne Judah, said, “and so it is with heavy hearts that we have decided to close the restaurant.”
