Blog Details 'Most Insane Things' About $53M Home

A Moroccan-style Turkish bath is only one of the outlandish features of Hacienda de La Paz in Rolling Hills.

The home at 1 Buggy Whip Drive in Rolling Hills—also known as "Hacienda de la Paz"—has been the subject of media speculation ever since the Los Angeles Times profiled it in a front-page article on Monday.

On the market for $53 million, the six-story, 50,000-square-foot mansion behind the gates features nine bedrooms, 25 bathrooms and even a Moroccan-style Turkish bath.

Real-estate blog Curbed LA came up with a list of the "10 most insane things about the underground Rolling Hills house." Here are a couple of highlights:

    • Interlocking wood ceilings built in Spain and hand-fitted together.
    • A women's powder room with a confessional window between the two stalls (for gabbing the way ladies do, you know).
