Deputy Comes to Aid of Fallen Seniors

The elderly Rancho Palos Verdes couple had been unable to call for aid—possibly for several days, according to the Sheriff's Department.

Two seniors were saved Friday afternoon when a deputy from the Lomita Sheriff's Station checked and found the couple lying on the floor, possibly for several days, according to a Friday night release from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

According to the Sheriff's Department, Deputy Chris Knox came to the 6800 block of Vallon Drive in Rancho Palos Verdes when a delivery company voiced concerns to authorities after being unable to contact the couple, the release said. Both seniors appeared to have fallen and weren't able to call for help.

Though the house was locked, Knox forced his way in to render immediate medical aid.
