Edison to Remove 11 Power Poles on PV Drive North
Excavation and trenching will start on Nov. 10, 2014 and will continue through January 2015.

Construction is about to begin on a project that will underground 11 utility poles on Palos Verdes Drive North near Palos Verdes Drive East.

Over the next six months, Southern California Edison will be removing the power poles and overhead wires, which will further enhance the beauty of the scenic corridor at the eastern entrance to the city.

The construction boundaries of the project are Palos Verdes Drive North between Hitching Post Drive and Montecillo Drive, with some work also taking placing at the entry to Hitching Post Drive. All of the power poles are located in the public right-of-way. During construction, you will see SCE, as well as other utility companies and their contractors, performing work in this area.
Below is some important information for you to know:
• Excavation and trenching will start on Nov. 10, 2014 and will continue through January 2015;
• Primary construction work will take place between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday;
• Lane closures will be limited to 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., but the intersection at Palos Verdes Drive North and Palos Verdes Drive East will remain open at all times.
• Once major roadwork is completed, utility contractors will complete their connections and then remove the poles in Spring 2015.

SCE has retained contractors VCI Construction, Inc. to perform the work. Traffic delays in this area should be expected. For your safety and the safety of the workers, please adhere to the construction signs and follow the instructions of the crews directing traffic and detours. Please ensure that children are supervised and kept a safe distance away from the construction activities and equipment at all times.
