First Friday Films Return To Catalina Island Museum This Week

AVALON, CA — Cult classic movies are making their return to the Catalina Island Museum this summer, starting with a Friday screening of Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

Rebounding from a year affected by the coronavirus pandemic, the museum this week announced its First Friday Films series is returning starting Friday, July 2. It will continue through November 5.

This season's Catalina Island Museum film lineup is:

• July 2 — Ferris Bueller's Day Off
• August 6 — The Princess Bride
• September 3 — Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian
• October 1 — Titanic
• November 5 — Edward Scissorhands

For screenings between July and September, the museum will open for admission at 7 p.m., with screenings beginning around 8 p.m., or after sundown.

During October and November, admission will begin at 6 p.m., and screenings will begin at approximately 6:45 p.m.

First Friday Films tickets can be purchased online. Snacks, beer and wine will also be available to purchase during screenings.

The museum reopened with adjusted hours last week. Currently, it is open Tuesday though Sunday and closed on Mondays.
