Gunman Killed In Officer-Involved Shooting In Wilmington

WILMINGTON, CA — A gunman was killed in an officer-involved shooting Monday evening in Wilmington, according to a report from the scene.

The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed that an officer-involved shooting occurred about 6:30 p.m. in the area of 1000 South Figueroa Street near West Anaheim Street. No officers were injured, but no additional details were immediately released.

Officers responded to a report of a shooting victim at or near a mobile home and were confronted by a gunman, who ended up fatally wounded, according to KCAL9.

The station showed what appeared to be a gun next to the downed suspect.

No word was immediately available about the victim whose reported shooting drew police to the location.
