Heat Advisory Issued For Rancho Palos Verdes

The National Weather Service issued a heat advisory for Los Angeles County starting Tuesday.

RANCHO PALOS VERDES, CA — The National Weather Service issued a heat advisory, warning of elevated fire weather conditions for Rancho Palos Verdes, Santa Monica, Malibu, Beverly Hills, Hollywood, Los Angeles and Long Beach from Tuesday through Friday.

The warning is in effect from 11 a.m. Tuesday to 5 p.m. Friday. Daytime high temperatures are expected to reach 90 to 95 degrees, except 95 to 100 degrees in the Hollywood Hills. Overnight low temperatures are expected in the 60s.

Monday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 65. West northwest wind 5 to 15 mph becoming east southeast after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 80. Light and variable wind becoming west northwest 10 to 15 mph in the morning.

Tuesday night: Clear, with a low around 64. West northwest wind 5 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 81. North northeast wind around 5 mph becoming south in the morning.

Wednesday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 64.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 81.

Thursday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 65.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 81.

Friday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 65.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 81.

Saturday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 64.

Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 79.

"Hot temperatures may cause heat illnesses to occur," according to the NWS. "Those without air conditioning will be especially vulnerable during this extended heat wave."

People are advised to drink lots of water, stay in an air-conditioned area and stay out of the sun. Neighbors and families should check up on each other and young children and pets should never be left alone or unattended in vehicles.
