PV's Priciest Homes: 3300 Palos Verdes Drive West
Every week, we feature one of the most expensive homes on the Palos Verdes Peninsula.

For just $12.5 million, the 5-bedroom, 9-1/2-bathroom Villa La Barba at 3300 Palos Verdes Drive West in Rancho Palos Verdes can be yours.
"Villa LaBarba sits upon a spectacular site on (the) PV Peninsula with 180-degree ocean views," writes real estate agent Raju Chhabria. "The creators of Villa La Barba envisioned an Italian Palazzo handed down through a family between the 15th and 19th centuries but with all the modern conveniences."
According to the listing on Redfin.com, the 11,346-square-foot home is three stories tall and featuresa two-story pantry and kitchen, a paneled library with a secret door, a wine cellar, an elevator and dumbwaiter, a two-story great hall and a large master suite.

"Within the Palladian facade, the Villa's walls, ceilings (and) floors are executed in murals, mosaics, gilt (and) faux finishes (and) classic Italian marbles," according to the Redfin listing.
Outside, the house is protected by "massive custom gates" which lead to a private driveway. The grounds feature lush gardens, a water course, Venetian fountains, hundreds of palm trees, more than 1,000 roses, a dozen citrus trees and a working vineyard.Â

Interestingly enough, the exterior of this home was used as a filming location for the now-canceled television series The O.C. The villa served as a stand-in for the Suriak Rehab Center located somewhere in Orange County, according to the website Seeing-Stars.com.
The property is listed by Chhabria. For more information, view the listing on Redfin.
