MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — The dream of renovating your own home can quickly turn into a nightmare as one local Manhattan Beach family recently found out.
But fortunately for Brandy and Steve Hattendorf, who lost hope with their Manhattan Beach fixer-upper, TLC stars Nate Berkus and Jeremiah Brent are here to help. The couple and their three children will be featured this weekend on the hit show "Nate & Jeremiah by Design” as the latest pair of distressed homeowners in need of rescuing.
According to The Beach Reporter, the Hattendorfs bought the home for about $1.8 million with plans to lovingly renovate the 1,300 square-foot house built in 1949.

But after thousands of dollars, the renovation effort stalled, leaving the family with a mess.
“We didn’t like to have people over because it looked so bad,” Brandy Hattendorf told the newspaper. “Then ... Nate and Jeremiah to the rescue.”
What happened next was life-changing for the couple. No longe embarrassed about their little house, they now plan to throw a viewing party Saturday for the premier of their episode.
