Special Movie Screening To Benefit Non-Profit In Rolling Hills

All proceeds of the "Fire on the Hill" screening will go towards the non-profit Urban Saddles.

ROLLING HILLS, CA — AMC Rolling Hills will host a benefit screening of the award-winning movie "Fire on the Hill" on Wednesday, May 22 at 7:30 p.m. The proceeds from the screening will go to Urban Saddles, a non-profit that runs therapeutic equestrian program "dedicated to building hope and opportunities for youth living in gang-impacted communities, through the equine experience and cowboy code," the press release said.

"Fire on the Hill" won the LA Muse Documentary Award at the Los Angeles Film Festival. The screening will include an after-film Q&A with the filmmakers, including:

  • Brett Fallentine (Film Director)
  • The Cowboys: Ghuan Featherstone, William Bias, Calvin Gray
  • Dr. Rebecca Foo (Moderator, Founding Board Member of Urban Saddles)

"For most, South Central LA and Compton are synonymous with gang violence, drug trafficking, and high amounts of crime. Yet for much of the twentieth century this was an agricultural boomtown filled with ranchers, farmers, and equestrians alike," the press release said. "Compton and the surrounding neighborhoods have always had a culture of Black Cowboys. 'Fire on the Hill' tells the story of one of the last strongholds that the Cowboys have: a horse stable known as the Hill that was mysteriously set on fire in 2012. This is the inspirational story of three of those Cowboys."
