Several Palos Verdes Trails Close Temporarily

Expect several trail closures and detours, California Water Service's (Cal Water) Palos Verdes Peninsula Water Reliability Project said.

PALOS VERDES, CA — Several trails and detours are expected in the Palos Verdes area, California Water Service's (Cal Water) Palos Verdes Peninsula Water Reliability Project announced in a news release. Starting as early as Monday, crews are expected to begin electrical work for the installed drinking water pipeline in the Botanic Garden Trail.

The finishing work is expected to happen from Monday to Friday, between 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. for approximately two weeks, according to the news release from the Palos Verdes Peninsula Water Reliability Project Team.

Equestrians and residents should note the following closures and stay safe while work continues:

  • A temporary closure of the Botanic Garden Trail, from Rolling Hills Road to Moccasin Trail, including the tunnel under Crenshaw Boulevard
  • A temporary closure of the School Trail, from Palos Verdes Drive North to the Botanic Garden Trail
  • Temporary detours around the work area starting at Rolling Hills Road and Moccasin Trail

"All trails will be reopened once work is complete," according to the news release.

"As a reminder, all construction timing is estimated and could change based on several factors, including unforeseeable field circumstances. We sincerely appreciate your patience as this work takes place and apologize for the inconvenience.
