Terranea Resort Closes Due To Coronavirus Concerns

"The health and wellbeing of our guests, associates and community is paramount at Terranea Resort," the president of the resort said.

PALOS VERDES, CA — Terranea Resort is temporarily closed due to government mandates and as part of its continued effort to reduce the spread of the new coronavirus, the resort announced Friday.

“The health and wellbeing of our guests, associates and community is paramount at Terranea Resort,” Terri A. Haack, President of Terranea Resort, said. “Due to government mandates and as part of our continued effort to ensure a safe and healthy environment, our team has been working around the clock to determine how best to take care of our guests and each other. Our hearts go out to all of those affected during these uncertain times. We will continue to support our associates, guests, and community members in every way that we can during this period of closure and we plan to resume our offerings as soon as it is safe to do so in accordance with government guidelines.”

The resort is still accepting reservations for overnight stays that begin on May 11. The reservations team has been in contact to notify guests with existing reservations through May 10, the news release said.

  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
  • Stay home when you are sick.
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.
  • Follow CDC's recommendations for using a facemask.
    • CDC does not recommend that people who are well wear a facemask to protect themselves from respiratory diseases, including COVID-19.
    • Facemasks should be used by people who show symptoms of COVID-19 to help prevent the spread of the disease to others. The use of facemasks is also crucial for health workers and people who are taking care of someone in close settings (at home or in a health care facility).
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
    • If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol. Always wash hands with soap and water if hands are visibly dirty.
