City of Piedmont Phone System To Be Down Wednesday Evening

The City of Piedmont says that it's phone system will be down for a few hours on Oct. 2 due to upgrades being performed.

PIEDMONT, CA -- If you need to call officials at the City of Piedmont on Wednesday, you'll want to make sure you do it before 6 p.m.

That's because at about 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 2, the City of Piedmont is expected to undertake an upgrade to its phone system that will necessitate a period of down time for the city’s business phones, including the non-emergency lines at public safety dispatch.

"We’ve scheduled the upgrade to minimize impact on residents and staff," the city said in a statement announcing the upgrade. "Our vendor estimates that the business phone system will be down for between one and three hours, but the phone system will return to operation as soon as the work is completed."
