Friday night Homicide Victim Identified

The Oakland resident was one of three men killed in just over 24 hours in Oakland.

OAKLAND, CA - A victim shot and killed in East Oakland on Friday night was identified today as a 24-year-old Oakland resident.

Police said James Crosby was found suffering from gunshot wounds at 10:25 p.m. Friday in the 1300 block of 71st Avenue. Crosby was pronounced dead at the scene. No arrests have been made in the case and police have not provided any description of the suspect or motive.

Crosby's death was the 13th in Oakland this year and the third in just over 24 hours between Thursday and Friday nights.

On Thursday, Antonio Alejandre Jr., 27, of Livermore, was shot and killed outside a convenience store in the 1500 block of 100th Avenue at about 9:40 p.m. Two other men were shot with Alejandre and are expected to survive.

At about 11:20 a.m. Friday, Isaac Patton, 28, of Oakland, was killed in the 1600 block of 99th Avenue.
