The Piedmont Branch Library will host a two-hour workshop on mobile apps on Monday evening, Jan. 6. The workshop will be repeated at the Lakeview Branch and other locations in future weeks.

The Piedmont Avenue Branch Library, 80 Echo Ave., Oakland, will host a two-hour workshop Monday evening, Jan. 6, to introduce patrons to some of library staff's favorite mobile apps, including Zinio, Freegal, Enki and Overdrive.Â
The session is especially recommended for those who received a new Internet-capable device — Kindle, Nook, iOS, Windows or Android — as a holiday gift.
The workshop is hands-on, and attendees should bring their device (fully charged) and their library card. Also be sure you know your library PIN number and your own email address.
The session is free, and reservations are not required.
