Golden State Warriors 2017 Victory Parade, Rally: Map, Route
More than a million people are expected to celebrate the NBA Champion Golden State Warriors on Thursday. Here's what you need to know.

OAKLAND, CA — The City of Oakland is throwing a gigantic victory celebration for the NBA Champion Golden State Warriors, which will include a parade and rally on Thursday. The parade starts at 10 a.m., with the rally planned for 12:15 p.m. Traditionally, the early bird gets the best spot at the rally - fans can begin to line up as early as 5 a.m. at Lakeshore and 12th Street.
You'll have some company. Oakland is expecting more than a million people to turn out for the revelry.
Parade Route
The parade begins on Broadway at 11th Street, then proceeds north up Broadway before turning right on Grand Avenue, then right on Harrison, left onto 19th Street, then right onto Oak before ending outside the Henry J. Kaiser Convention Center and along Lake Merritt Blvd. for the rally.

Rally Celebration

Medical assistance centers at the rally site will be identified by giant red balloons floating above the tents.
Beverage stations are also scattered throughout the rally site.

Transit Information
Both BART and AC Transit are gearing up to accommodate large crowds. Public transit is considered the best way to get to the celebrations. No-parking zones and street closures will make driving in downtown Oakland very difficult. Once the downtown area fills up, vehicles will not be allowed entry.
10 Tips for Riding BART to the Victory Celebration in Oakland:
- Be patient, it’s going to get crowded; the busiest hours for the 2015 celebration were 8 -10 a.m.
- Use 19th Street Station, avoid the much smaller Lake Merritt Station
- Buy a Clipper card (clipper.com) in advance to avoid extremely long lines at ticket machines
- Look for tables with cash only $15 Clipper card sales at 10 of the busiest stations
- Parking will be packed; think about taking the bus or walking to BART or getting dropped off
- “Permit” spaces in parking lots are for permit holders only, a citation will ruin the fun day
- When boarding trains, move to the center of the car so more can fit, remove backpacks
- Don’t jam a train door - it will take the whole train out of service and everyone will boo you
- Some trains may not stop at Lake Merritt if the Rally Zone has reached capacity or crowding
- BART is adding trains. Service will not match the published schedule so listen and pay attention
AC Transit Reroutes Buses Downtown
AC Transit buses will be rerouted around downtown Oakland for most of the day due to street closures in the parade and rally area. As road closures begin to affect bus service, AC Transit ambassadors will be deployed throughout downtown Oakland and Lake Merritt to help guide residents and visitors to appropriate bus stop locations. Additionally, AC Transit ambassadors will be distributing flyers with critical information regarding temporary reroutes and the affected bus lines.
Lines 1, 6, 12, 14, 18, 19, 20, 29, 33, 40, 51A, 62, 72, 72M, 72R, 88, 96, NL, Broadway Shuttle and All Nighter lines 801 and 840 will be detoured. Detours of these bus lines will occur in three phases and begin the night before the parade.
Temporary Transit Center at Castro Street
Since many AC Transit bus lines start, transfer or end service in downtown Oakland, a Temporary Transit Center has been set up at Castro Street between 12th and 17th Streets. Downtown Oakland riders requiring transportation to the Castro Temporary Transit Center should look for the green Broadway Shuttle Buses. This service is free and will transport riders from the Castro Street Temporary Transit Center along 14th Street, Clay Street and 12th Street. The Shuttle will serve the stop at 12th and Clay Streets.
