OAKLAND, CA - The Golden State Warriors beat the Memphis Grizzlies at Oracle Arena in Oakland Wednesday night 125-104. The win caps a golden season for the Warriors who turned the NBA record book into a personal log of their glory.
This game was no different as the Dubs turned in a thrilling performance, led by reigning NBA MVP Steph Curry who entered the game needing 8 3-pointers to score 400 3-pointers on the season. He scored 7 in the first half, missing two chances just before the buzzer. He wasted no time in the second half, sinking 3 more in the third quarter to reach 402.
That obliterates the previous record of 286, which Curry held. He was rested in the fourth quarter.
Next up: the playoffs, which get underway Saturday.
Congrats to the @Warriors, a great group of guys on and off the court. If somebody had to break the Bulls' record, I'm glad it's them.

The defending NBA Champions set out last fall to claim a second straight crown. Anyone who doubted their talent has been hushed. Instead, there’s serious talk of them being the greatest team in NBA history. Statistics back them up. First, there’s the record set tonight of winningest season at 73 - 9. The previous record was set in 1995 - 96 by the Chicago Bulls, led by Michael Jordan.
In addition, the Warriors stunning accomplishments (prior to tonight’s game) include:
- NBA record 24 straight wins to start the season
- NBA record 28 consecutive regular-season victories dating back to last season
- NBA record 54 straight regular- season home game winning streak
- NBA record 34 road games in a season
- NBA record 14 - 0 road wins to start the season
- NBA team record for most 3 pointers in a season
- NBA player record for 3 pointers in a season: Stephen Curry
- NBA player record for most consecutive games making a 3 pointer: Stephen Curry
In addition to the record book, the Warriors also provided trivia buffs with a lifetime of golden stats including being the 1st team in NBA history to go an entire season without back-to-back losses, the 1st team in NBA history to not lose to the same team twice, the first team in NBA history to score 1,000 3-pointers in a season, and the list goes on and on.
