Man Killed By Amtrak Train In East Bay ID'd
The train hit the man's vehicle Saturday morning.

OAKLAND, CA — The Alameda County Coroner's Office has identified the man killed Saturday morning in Oakland when an Amtrak train struck his car as 46-year-old Pablo Mancia-Guardado.
A northbound Amtrak Capitol Corridor train slammed into the car driven by Mancia-Guardado, an Oakland resident, about 10:20 a.m. Saturday where 50th Avenue crosses the tracks between Coliseum Way and San Leandro Street in Oakland, said Amtrak spokeswoman Kimberly Woods.
It couldn't be confirmed tonight why the car was on the tracks, or whether Mancia-Guardado may have ignored lowered crossing gates and flashers.

Seventy-one passengers were aboard the Sacramento-bound train, and no passengers or crew were injured, Woods said. The train suffered some damage to the lead car (the locomotive was pushing the train), and passengers transferred to another trainset to resume their trips.
