OAK Achieves Three Consecutive Years Of Monthly Passenger Growth

OAK accommodated over one million passengers for the 7th consecutive month and over 12 million passengers in the prior 12 months.

From Oakland International Airport: Officials at Oakland International Airport (OAK) released November passenger traffic figures today, revealing that the Airport accommodated over 1 million passengers for the 7th consecutive month and over 12 million passengers in the prior 12 months, constituting its highest traffic volume in nine years.

November represents the 36th consecutive month of passenger traffic growth for OAK. The following table displays passenger traffic volume for October and November 2016, compared to the same period in 2015:

Bryant L. Francis, Director of Aviation for the Port of Oakland said, “OAK is emerging as a global gateway to the Bay Area’s world renowned tourism attractions, and is a notable player in the business of air travel. We’re pleased by the growth we’ve been able to sustain, and are optimistic that with our airline partners eyeing further expansion in 2017, this trend will continue.”

With new flights and routes, Oakland International remains the 4th busiest airport in the state and 2nd busiest airport in the San Francisco Bay Area.

OAK traffic is expected to continue to increase as new and increased daily nonstop flights to London, Puerto Vallarta, Los Cabos, Copenhagen, and Barcelona are added in 2017.
