Oakland A's Triple A Team In Las Vegas
The proximity of Las Vegas to Oakland will allow the A's to move players much more easily between the Triple-A and major league squads.

OAKLAND, CA — The Oakland Athletics announced today that the franchise's Triple-A team will play in Las Vegas through at least 2020 after previously being affiliated with Nashville since 2015.
The Triple-A Las Vegas 51s of the Pacific Coast League will play at the new 10,000-seat Las Vegas Ballpark in the downtown Summerlin area near Las Vegas.
The A's had their Triple-A squad in Sacramento from 2000 to 2014 before having them move to Nashville.

The New York Mets previously played as the Las Vegas 51s but will move their Triple-A team to Syracuse, New York, starting in 2019.

The A's are 90-60 and currently in position to get the second wild card spot in the American League playoffs. Oakland is 4.5 games behind the Houston Astros for first place in the AL West and is 1.5 games behind the New York Yankees for the first wild card spot.
