Filing for City Council, School Board Elections Opens Monday

Candidates must file in person between Oct. 14 and Nov. 8 for the Feb. 4, 2014 election. Voters will choose three city council members and two school board members.

The official filing period for candidates for the Piedmont City Council and the Piedmont Unified School District's Board of Education opens Monday, Oct. 14, according to an announcement from City Clerk John Tulloch.

The California Elections Code requires that nomination papers be issued in person to the prospective candidate at City Hall, the announcement says. There is no cost to candidates for the election.

The deadline for filing is Nov. 8, 2013. The municipal election will be held Feb. 4, 2014.
