Police Officers Crack Down On Grizzly Peak Partying
Especially concerning is the use of fireworks in the hills, with wildfire danger sky-high.

PIEDMONT, CA — Police from several local agencies joined forces earlier this month to crack down on partying in the Grizzly Peak area. Of special concern to residents who've been complaining about the problem is fireworks being set off in the tinder-dry hills.
Officers contacted over 500 vehicles between Friday and Saturday nights, making announcements on vehicle PA systems, informing people that the area had restricted use hours posted.
The officers made sweeps at 11 p.m., midnight, and again at 1 and 2 a.m. "We still encountered parked vehicles in violation of the posted restricted signage on each patrol," Orinda Police report, "however all citizen contacts were positive educational events and motorists moved off without objection or delay."
