Warriors To Break Sellout Record This Week

OAKLAND, CA — The Golden State Warriors are expected on Thursday to break the franchise's record of consecutive sellout games by having a 311th straight capacity crowd attend the game at Oracle Arena against the Portland Trail Blazers, team officials said.

The Warriors expect a sellout crowd of 19,596 people to attend the 7:30 p.m. Thursday game, which would break the previous franchise record sellout streak of 310 games over 1989 through 1996.

Golden State, which has won two straight NBA titles and three in the last four seasons, started the current streak in December 2012 and won an NBA record 54 consecutive home games between January 2015 and March 2016.

The Warriors' streak of sellout home games is the fourth-longest in the league, behind only Dallas, Miami and Oklahoma City, according to the team.

Golden State is currently 23-12 in the 2018-19 season, the second-best record in the Western Conference, and is 15-4 at home.
