Recruitment Extended for Concord's Community Services Commission

The Concord City Council announced on Tuesday, Jan. 22 that the recruitment period for applicants to the Community Services Commission has been extended for an additional period, and set Friday, Feb. 22 at 5 p.m. as the deadline for applications.

The Community Services Commission is comprised of up to nine members. This recruitment is for four members and two alternates. The commission reviews funding requests, advises the City Council on the allocation of General Fund monies for human services and the expenditure of Federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) monies for programs and projects, monitors the performance of funded programs, and identifies housing, neighborhood, and social service needs within the community.

Five members are selected by their fellow commissioners to serve on the Mt. Diablo Health Care District Grant Committee to review that committee’s funding requests.
