Assistance League of Diablo Valley’s Play Day at Lafayette Plaza

Member volunteers at the Assistance League^® Way Side Inn Thrift Shop are busily preparing for a new event, Play Day at the Plaza, which will occur at Lafayette Plaza, a well-known venue located at the center of Lafayette, specifically at the north end of La Fiesta Square on Mt. Diablo Blvd. Scheduled for Sunday, August 18, 2019, beginning at 12 noon and ending at 4 p.m., this end of the summer event will provide an entertaining afternoon while effortlessly accomplishing a great deal of good.

Other participating local business will include Sideboard, Lemon, Orange Theory, Joe & the Juice and K-9 Kitchen. Look for their activities, as well. A special thanks goes to Sideboard for creating and printing the flyers and posters for Play Day at the Plaza.

Play Day at the Plaza will feature Assistance League of Diablo Valley’s 10 philanthropic hands-on programs which, funded by the Way Side Inn Thrift Shop, ultimately improve the lives of those in our community who are vulnerable. Also available will be tables lined with gift baskets, give-away logo beach balls and face painting opportunities. Such games as badminton, corn hole and croquette will also offer something-for-everyone entertainment.

The signature piece will be an OPEN MIC provided for the enjoyment of local, family-friendly talent. Any of you who wants to sing a song, play a musical instrument, do stand-up comedy or perform magic tricks, do not deny yourself this moment! A statuesque, curly-locked MC will direct all entries to write their names and type of performance on a sign-up board located on the stage.
