Burlington Opening New Store In Pleasant Hill

PLEASANT HILL, CA — A brand-new Burlington store is set to open next week in Pleasant Hill. The 31,000-square-foot store which offers brand-name merchandise at discount prices will open Friday, May 17 in the Pleasant Hill Shopping Center, 568 Contra Costa Blvd.

"We are thrilled to open a new Burlington in Pleasant Hill," said Tom Kingsbury, CEO and chairman of Burlington Stores. "This new location brings jobs to the community, and provides a great shopping experience for the entire family. Whether they're looking for brand-name clothing, stylish home décor items, or anything for baby, customers will enjoy significant savings and discover new merchandise arrivals each week."

Community members are invited to join store associates and local officials for a ribbon cutting ceremony at 9:15 a.m. Friday, May 17. The Grand Opening Day event continues at 9:30 a.m., when local residents are invited to be among the first to shop at the new store. The first 500 customers will receive a free Burlington tote.

The celebration continues Saturday morning, May 18; after the store opens at 9:30 a.m., customers are invited to enjoy Family Fun Day festivities from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.. There will be a DJ, gift-card giveaways and kids' activities.

Other ways Burlington is celebrating the grand opening of the Pleasant Hill store is through the following philanthropic initiatives:

  • Burlington, through its partnership with AdoptAClassroom.org, will donate $10,000 to a nearby school to fund the materials teachers and students need to learn and achieve in the classroom.
  • Throughout the year, the new store will join in the retailers’ nationwide cause marketing initiatives, such as but not limited to, the Warm Coats and Warm Hearts Coat Drive, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and support of AdoptAClassroom.org.

Since 2011, the retailer has raised more than $53 million dollars for national causes with local impact including, but not limited to, support for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and AdoptAClassroom.org. Burlington has also donated more than 2.2 million coats through its Annual Warm Coats & Warm Hearts Coat Drive since its inception in 2012.

Approximately 75 associates were hired to work at the new store that will receive new merchandise once a week by truck.

Regular hours at the new Pleasant Hill store will be 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 9:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday.
