Contra Costa Coronavirus Death Toll Rises: Pleasant Hill
Since last Friday, the county has added 1202 newly confirmed cases.
PLEASANT HILL, CA — In the shadow of wildfires, a heatwave and rolling blackouts, the coronavirus pandemic continues unabated in Contra Costa County.
The latest data from the county shows 221 newly reported cases for a total of 12,362 since the beginning of the pandemic. Since last Friday, the county has added 1202 new cases.
Three new deaths were reported on Friday bringing the death toll since the start of the pandemic to 164. That's an increase of 8 since last Friday.

There are 93 people currently hospitalized for complications from COVID-19, caused by coronavirus. Across the entire Bay Area, the number is 665.
Here in Pleasant Hill, there have been 230 confirmed cases and 20 deaths.
