Coronavirus Outbreak Confirmed At Pleasant Hill Nursing Home
At least 13 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in the outbreak, Contra Costa County public health officials said.
PLEASANT HILL, CA — Contra Costa Health Services are investigating a coronavirus outbreak at a senior living facility in downtown Pleasant Hill. Four residents of Carlton Senior Living have tested positive, three of whom were hospitalized for COVID-19 as of mid-day Tuesday, Contra Costa County public health officials said.
Nine staff members also have tested positive at the skilled nursing facility located at 125 Cleaveland Road, Contra Costa Health Services confirmed Tuesday.
"We are testing symptomatic people at the site and are evaluating the feasibility of testing everyone who lives and works there," CCHS said via Twitter.

The outbreak in Pleasant Hill is the county's second involving an assisted living facility for the elderly. On Friday, CCHS said 27 people at Orinda Care Center on Altarinda Road in Orinda had contracted the virus, including two residents who were hospitalized.
Forty-nine people — 27 residents and 22 employees — have now tested positive for the virus at Orinda Care Center, Harper said Tuesday.

One resident of Orinda Care Center was in end-of-life hospice care at the time they contracted the virus; that resident has since died, Harper told Patch.
Countywide, there have been seven coronavirus-related deaths. The county says 5,831 residents have been tested for COVID-19; of those, 442 have tested positive.
Twenty-nine people were hospitalized with the virus as of Tuesday in Contra Costa County.
