Coroner IDs Pleasant Hill Woman Who Died In Crash Near Brentwood

California Highway Patrol is still investigating why the woman drove off Highway 4.

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA — A Pleasant Hill woman killed early Saturday morning in a solo-vehicle crash on state Highway 4 near Brentwood has been identified as 45-year-old Tina Jones,
according to the Contra Costa County coroner's office.

The crash happened around 1:30 a.m. Saturday in the eastbound lanes of Highway 4 near Lone Tree Way, according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP Officer Brandon Correia said the woman was driving east when she went off the road in an area where there is no guardrail.

Firefighters arrived on the scene and pronounced Jones dead.

There were no obvious indications that drugs or alcohol may have been factors in the crash, but Correia said that won't be confirmed until a toxicology report is available.
