Supervisor Awards Grant For Pleasant Hill Aging In Place Campus
"This visionary project is an investment in our community and the well being of our seniors," said County Supervisor Karen Mitchoff.
PLEASANT HILL, CA — Local nonprofit Choice in Aging expressed its gratitude Tuesday to the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors and thanked District 4 Supervisor Karen Mitchoff for helping secure a $125,000 county grant toward an Aging in Place campus planned in Pleasant Hill.
"We are incredibly honored that Supervisor Mitchoff has recognized our project to create a national model and change the way we age, as deserving of her support," said Debbie Toth, CiA president and CEO.
The mission of CiA, which was founded in 1949, is to create opportunities where people can learn, grow and age independently with dignity and community, according to Toth. In 2017, CiA's long-held dream of intergenerational programming was realized with the opening of Choice in Learning Montessori on Golf Club Drive in Pleasant Hill.
