Education Foundation Awards $38,000 to Pleasant Hill Schools
The Foundation for Pleasant Hill Education gave 37 grants to 10 local schools for programs and supplies.

Ten Pleasant Hill schools have some extra resources on hand thanks to the Foundation for Pleasant Hill Education (FPHE), which awarded just short of $38,000 in grants last month to support programs and activities in local public schools.
The 37 grants funded supplies such as books, stage lighting, a sound system, "Nook" e-readers, television monitors, a video camera, gardening supplies, flash drives and musical instruments. Every school that requested a grant received one, FPHE says.Â
Funding came from FPHE’s 2013 Annual Campaign and other fundraisers throughout the year, according to the foundation, which has awarded over $157,000 and 187 grants since 2009 to the public schools within the College Park High School feeder pattern.
The grants are awarded based on the number of students impacted and the contribution to language arts, math, science, or other key curriculum areas.
"FPHE thanks and applauds all 2013 donors and business partners for placing a high priority on local education and realizing that strong schools benefit the entire community," said the foundation in a a press release.
