Fresh At The Farmers' Market: Ripe Raspberries
This reddish-pink berry is in season through October and available at your local farmers' market.

This week's featured fruit is the the raspberry — a berry that is indigenous to North America, according to the Pacific Coast Farmers' Market Association (PCFMA).
Raspberries are known for a bold reddish-pink color but are also available in black, purple, and gold hues, says PCFMA. The raspberry is actually an aggregate fruit, which means it contains many tiny seed-filled fruits in one berry.Â
The raspberries at the local farmers' market are picked fresh, high in dietary fiber and a good source of vitamin C, iron, and calcium. With a delicate balance of sweetness and tartness, raspberries makes a great addition to salads and desserts, says PCFMA.Â
