Homes Near Public Transit: What's For Sale In Pleasant Hill
A study done this year concludes houses near mass transit have higher property values

When it comes to real estate, the adage "location, location, location" seems to apply to public transit as well as schools and other amenities.
A study done this year by the Center for Neighborhood Technology concluded that houses near public transportation such as buses and trains had higher property values that similar homes that didn't have easy access to transit.
This was particularly true during the housing crisis that began in 2007. Homes near mass transit weathered that storm better other houses, the study said.
Nationally, researchers said homes within a half-mile of public transportation with high frequency service performed 42 percent better when it came to property values.
In the Bay Area, those homes near transit performed 37 percent better than other properties.
With the BART labor talks in the news,  we thought we'd see what houses near public transit are on the market in our communities.
In Pleasant Hill, this three-bedroom, two-bathroom home at 47 Dawn Drive is located within walking distance of the County Connection bus lines along Contra Costa Boulevard and in the downtown area.
The home, built in 1951, is 1,772 square feet on a sixth of an acre. It's listed at $570,000.
