Local Businesses Fundraise for Boy Wounded in Boston Marathon Bombings
Dickey's in Pleasant Hill and Pasta Primavera in Concord are among the local businesses donating to 11-year-old Aaron Hern of Martinez, who is recovering from surgery in a Boston hospital.

The outpouring of support for a local family affected by the Boston Marathon bombings has continued to spread. Residents and local businesses in the Central Contra Costa County area are fundraising for the Hern family of Martinez in a variety of ways — including setting up a bank account for donations, and dedicating business proceeds to the Herns during fundraising events.
Aaron Hern, an 11-year-old Martinez Junior High student, was wounded in the thigh by shrapnel during the Boston Marathon bombings. He required two surgeries for his injuries and is currently recovering in Boston Children's Hospital.
Locals can contribute just by mentioning the Hern family at local restaurants — including Pasta Primavera in Concord, which will donate 18 percent of the bill to the Herns through Thursday, April 25 and then again from April 27 to 30.
