Over 100 Homes To Take Part in Citywide Garage Sale
The sales take place all over town May 18 and 19.

Pleasant Hill is undergoing a mass spring cleaning this weekend with a citywide garage sale May 18 and 19.Â
At least 110 homes have signed up for the event, according to Public Information Officer Martin Nelis. Some residents are merging homes, others have arranged multi-family sales or partnered with the neighbors, and some are even fundraising.
Here's how it works: sellers post garage sale information on PleasantHillGarageSale.com, including the address and time of the sale as well as any details about what's up for grabs. Placing an ad is free and can be done online at any time.
Buyers can then browse through the ads and plan a weekend of garage sale shopping. Sign up with an email address, and you can also save certain garage sales to your "favorites" and prepare to scour the neighborhoods of Pleasant Hill for a bargain.
Many of the garage sales start between 7 and 8 a.m. and run until mid-afternoon. Sales are cash only — so stop by an ATM before embarking on your neighborhood shopping adventure.
So, what's for sale? Everything — including tools, furniture, toys, electronics, clothing, books, artwork and household items. Some of the stranger offerings include Halloween costumes, a "commercial chocolate melting pot," kickboxing items, women's clothing from Japan and Hong Kong, square dancing clothing, Christmas trees and ornaments, a jacuzzi bathtub and even a boat.
Some sellers are even offering fresh lemonade for browsers.
The event is co-sponsored by the Pleasant Hill Civic Action Commission and Republic Services.Â
