Peek Inside Newly Remodeled Jack's Restaurant In Pleasant Hill

The eatery recently reopened after makeover, adding new menu items, including fried chicken & waffles and Greek-inspired breakfast burrito.

PLEASANT HILL, CA — Downtown Pleasant Hill's Jack's Restaurant and Bar, which serves Greek-American-inspired cuisine, reopened in late October with a refurbished interior and some new menu options — fried chicken and waffles! — after closing for 10 days for a remodel.

Family-owned Jack’s closed in mid-October as the eatery, at 60 Crescent Drive, underwent an update with design inspiration from Studio Divo in Alamo and designer Carole O’Riordan, according to management.

"The design focused on brightening up the space and creating a more relaxed, genuine and welcoming interior in line with the family-friendly vibe and warm hospitality for which Jack’s is known," company officials said.

Along with the new interior hues and modern furnishings, diners also can enjoy such newly added menu options as "What the Cluck," a Belgian waffle and fried half chicken and syrup, the Hatch Chili, a mac made with New Mexico hatch chilies, and new breakfast burrito options, including The Greek, made with two eggs scrambled, hash browns, gyro meat, tomato, green onion and feta cheese.

“Creating these new dishes has been a joy and I love pulling inspiration from my combined Greek and California heritage,” said chef David Marcovici, who runs the family establishment with his two brothers, Chris and John. “I’m looking forward to introducing them to our loyal customers.”

The Marcovici brothers were intent on working into the restaurant's re-design their Greek heritage and history, with displayed snapshots of the "Marcovici story," as immigrants from Cyprus establishing roots in California, management said.
