Pleasant Hill Cyclist Killed in Solo Crash Identified
John Gabellini, 42, died Monday after crashing his bike about a half mile from Pine Meadows Golf Course.

A bicyclist who died after crashing his bike in Martinez on Monday evening has been identified as a Pleasant Hill man.
According to police and a Contra Costa County coroner's deputy, John Gabellini, 42, was riding his bicycle in the 600 block of Vine Hill Way around 6:15 p.m. when, for unknown reasons, he crashed.
First responders found Gabellini suffering from life-threatening injuries and rushed him to Contra Costa Regional Medical Center in Martinez.
He died from his injuries at the hospital.
An investigation into what caused the crash is ongoing, and anyone with further information is asked to call Martinez police at (925) 372-3440.
